Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer online therapy?

Yes! Secure telehealth services are available to eligible clients throughout Mississippi, Alabama, and Louisiana.

Most virtual sessions are provided through SimplePractice Telehealth. Depending on your insurance plan, sessions may be scheduled and provided through Headway instead. The appropriate platform and next steps will be discussed before your first appointment.

Do you offer in-person therapy?

Yes! Therapy with Kens Counseling & Consulting is now fully operating from our Hattiesburg, Mississippi office, with both in-person and telehealth appointments available. Clients can choose the format that works best for their needs, preferences, and schedule.

Appointment availability varies throughout the week.

What ages do you work with?

Yes! I work with adolescents ages 12 and older, college students, young adults, professionals, and adults across different stages of life. I also provide counseling for young and middle-aged couples looking to strengthen communication, work through challenges, or build healthier relationships.

Whether you’re navigating school, college, career demands, relationships, or major life transitions, therapy is tailored to meet you where you are.

Do you provide LGBTQIA+ affirming therapy?

Absolutely! Therapy with Kens Counseling & Consulting is an LGBTQIA+ affirming practice where you are welcomed and respected for who you are. I work with LGBTQIA+ adolescents, adults, and couples.

Your identity does not have to be the reason you come to therapy—it is simply a part of who you are, and you deserve a space where that is understood and respected.

What issues do you treat?

I work with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, chronic stress, anger, and difficulty managing emotions. I also support clients navigating life transitions, identity and LGBTQIA+ concerns, relationship and family challenges, school or behavioral concerns, sleep difficulties, impulse control, self-esteem, and men’s mental health.

You don’t have to have everything figured out before coming to therapy. Sometimes you just know that something feels off, overwhelming, or no longer manageable—and we can start there.

How do I know if therapy is right for me?

You don’t have to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. Many people seek support when they feel overwhelmed, stuck, stressed, disconnected, or simply ready for change. Therapy can help you better understand your thoughts, emotions, and patterns while developing practical tools to navigate life’s challenges. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, relationship concerns, grief, trauma, or a major life transition, therapy can provide a space for growth, healing, and support.
